Relay For Life 2020 - Update

Last term, 18 Stage 3 students and staff joined together to make 'NCS Prime Movers 2020'. They were involved in raising funds and awareness for the Cancer Council through Shoalhaven's annual 'Relay for Life' event. Due to the recent COVID-19 epidemic we heard that the event itself was postponed until later in the year. We have now heard the news that it has been cancelled altogether.

As disappointing as this news was to hear, it is totally understandable. The Cancer Council have assured us that our team and their fundraising efforts will automatically be included in the relay event for 2021.

Our team managed to raise a 'whopping' $1936.45 in only a few short weeks of Term One. An individual team member, Harley D, managed to raise over $600 himself by organising a morning tea fundraiser with his parents' help. Thanks for their efforts and those of the employees at Kmart's Nowra store for their generosity towards this worthy cause.

Early in Week 5 this term, students were given their team RFL shirts to wear for the day. We were then joined by Mr Bray for a photograph to mark the team's tremendous achievements this year. We look forward to having our team 'hit the track' up at the Nowra Showground in 2021. No doubt, there will be some new members who join next year and all the current members are most welcome to continue to be part of it, as we'll have Years 5-7 represented.

Thanks to all students who enrolled online in our team this year: Abigail G, Adele G, Celeb G, Chloe C, Ella P, Emma C, Grace D, Harley D, Harvey W, Belle L, Jay W, Kent E, Mackenzie G, Riley W, RubyMay P, Sharnhi B-B and Taine H.
