STUDENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
About the program
The Student Ambassador Program gives current Years 8 and 9 students, who are committed to the school’s values and passionate about telling others about Nowra Christian School, the opportunity to share their knowledge, experience and understanding about being part of the NCS community.
Student ambassadors are the 'face' of NCS and assist the community relations team to represent the school to current and prospective students and families at expos, marketing events (such as Open Week and Year 7 Experience Day) school tours and on videos/social media. They may also assist at other community events such as NCS Community Coffee & Chat, Twilight Picnic, Community Prayer Breakfasts, NCS Perspective Evenings etc.
Who will make an ideal student ambassador?
The ideal student will be:

in Year 8 or 9 at time of completing an application

passionate and positive about attending NCS

able to communicate clearly with a variety of people and ages
-
able to demonstrate a good record of behaviour
-
respectful and responsible
-
willing to learn new skills and to serve the NCS community

well-informed about what the school has to offer

willing to share their own experiences with prospective students

neatly presented in correct uniform
-
willing to attend events, some of which will occur outside school hours
What are the benefits of being a student ambassador?

a recognised student leadership role (badge)

develop your communication and interpersonal skills

develop your hospitality skills, such as food presentation and service

be provided with training in presentation skills, handling difficult situations/questions and some may also choose to be trained as a barista

receive a written reference from the Community Relations Manager stating your hard work, commitment, communication skills and professionalism. This could then be used for gaining employment outside of school

meet new people

develop a greater understanding and appreciation of Nowra Christian School
How many?
Depending on the number of applicants received, we will ideally select 6-8 student ambassadors each year
Applications
Interested students are encouraged to submit a Student Application Form by
22 November 2024. Teachers also can nominate students by completing a Teacher Nomination Form. There are limited spaces available in each year group. Students will be selected, based on their application form and an informal interview with the Principal and/or Head of Secondary and Community Relations Manager.
