Stage 2 AFL Gala Day

On Wednesday, 27 March, Stage 2 students enjoyed their AFL Gala Day at Artie Smith Oval in Bomaderry. After rain the week before, our re-scheduled day was perfect – not too hot, not too cold.

Scores of games are not kept and no school wins the day. This allows all students to participate, irrespective of their skill level. It is a great opportunity for students to join in the fun and practice good sportsmanship. Students played games against students from seven other local schools. There were 52 teams in total – the second-best participation rate since 1999. This was a great encouragement for the organisers. NCS entered seven teams - four girls’ teams, two boys’ teams and one mixed team.

Many thanks to the organisers – a great day was had by all. Thanks to Mr Hefferan and Mr Norsworthy for setting up and packing up shelters for us.
