On Thursday 24 October the Primary Stage 3 Biathlon - otherwise known as 'Splash and Dash' - took place at Sydney Regatta Centre, near Penrith. Stifling conditions greeted competitors as the day began. Our only individual competitor, Jeremy P, had a 200m open water swim, then a 2 km run. He was competing in his first ever Tri-type event and completed it in an impressive 21minutes and 29 seconds finishing in 50th place. This was a combined Year 5 and 6 event, so Jeremy did very well. Next was the turn of our Year 6 girls team event. Keonie A was in the swim leg and Charley B the run. The girls managed to finish in 22 mins and 18 seconds for an overall 35th place. Finally, we had three lots of Year 5 boys teams. Dan B (swim) and Kent E (run) completed the course in an impressive 18 mins and 38 seconds coming 28th place. Jai M (swim) and Jeremy P (run) competed well and finished with a time of 20 mins and 4 seconds in 38th place. Josh C (swim) and Joel C (run) raced a very strong event with a time of 16 minutes and 51 seconds to finish just outside the top ten in 11th place overall. Well done to our eight competitors from Stage 3. We're proud of your achievements and appreciated your efforts. Thanks for representing NCS so well. Enormous THANKS to our Stage 3 parents/carers who drove students on the day and supported and encouraged them as they gave their best efforts: Mrs Preston, Mrs Miles, Mr Adams, Mrs Harlor and Mrs Bishop. We thank you for your ongoing support of NCS students as they participate in various sporting activities such as this.
