While Stage Three and Secondary were away at camp, our Stage One classes took over the food technology rooms in Secondary. First, we spent the week learning about different aspects of ANZAC Day. This included taking part in our formal ANZAC Day assembly at NCS, and having two special guest speakers visit our classes. Mr Darvill (Rachel and Cooper’s dad) talked with us about life in the armed forces. Mr Williams showed us some different bugles and horns used to play Reveille and the Last Post. Captain Feathersword helped with some tricky tunes! On Thursday, we invaded the food technology room, where the Stage One master chefs baked delicious ANZAC biscuits. Next door, we played some Maths games, unjumbled mixed up recipes and made ANZAC wreaths with Mrs Parsons. We had a fantastic time (the biscuits were AMAZING!) but couldn’t have done this without an army of helpers. We need to say a HUGE “Thank you” to Mrs Varga, Mrs Hustwit, Mrs Heard, Mrs Jeffery, Mrs Kenny and Latoya from Year 5.
