National Reconciliation Sorry Day Bridge Walk

In a show of reconciliation, Indigenous and Non-Indigenous NCS students participated in the National Sorry Day Walk.

The event involved over 150 community members, walking across the Nowra Bridge to the site of the Bomaderry Children's Homes where 1000's of children were forcibly removed from families and were brought there until the 1980's.

National Sorry Day is an Australia-wide observance held on May 26 each year.

This day gives people the chance to come together and share the steps towards healing for the Stolen Generations, their families and communities.

"I loved that lots of Aboriginal people came together to share their stories and share grief and joy together. I got to meet other people from my culture" Jay

"It was an insightful cultural day to celebrate with our community" Ky
