On Monday 20 February Nowra Christian School Year 10 Geography students had a day out at Currarong Beach. This was no walk on the sand though! The students were investigating the erosion and damage that has occurred at the beach due to the strong storms during the winter of 2016.
Students had the assistance of Mrs McCarroll, an expert in coastal management who helped them to expand their geography skills in transect making, slope measurement and vegetation identification.
Students assessed the beach, the damage to local infrastructure and houses and will now investigate the council's response to the issue as they put together their Research Action Plans in class.
