I have taught beginner brass musical instruments for over twenty years, and have had the privilege of being the band master at The Shoalhaven Salvation Army for over ten years. My teaching emphasises musicality, knowledge of conventions, and technical playing. Outside of music teaching I am a primary trained teacher and have had 4th year training in psychology at university. I studied 1st year music at university as part of my undergraduate coursework. During my music career I have participated in brass bands, big bands, jazz bands, concert bands, musical performance bands, and a number of worship ensembles. I have over the years specialized in trombone teaching and performance, however I play and teach a wide variety of brass instruments ranging from trumpet to tuba.
