Monday of Week 8, 17 NCS students from Years 3-6 made the trek up to Western Sydney's Blacktown Aquatic Centre to compete in the 2019 CSSA State Swimming Carnival.
They were representing South Coast Zone along with students from other local schools in our region. Our children were given a S.C. Zone swim cap, as something of a 'badge of honour' for making it to this high level of competition.
In the very pool that Keiran Perkins once set a world record time for 800m freestyle back in the early nineties (ask your parents kids!) our brave students swam their very best competing against other students from around NSW's many Christian Schools. Sixteen of our swimmers took part in the 4 x 50 m freestyle relays as the final events marked the culmination of the meeting. Seven of our school's best primary swimmers also swam in individual events, competing throughout the day. As always, hot chips from the canteen and CSSA State 'merch' from the convenors' stall were items in high demand!
Thanks to all our NCS parents who made the sacrifice to have days off work to ensure their children got to attend this important sporting event. Much appreciated.
