Ruari to represent NSW in Rugby 7s

On the weekend of 12-14 May I travelled up to the Central Coast to play for the Illawarra in the Rugby 7s Country Championships with my mum.

We competed for two days against Hunter, Central Coast, North Coast and Central west. On our first day we only had one try scored against us and no conversions, that try went to Hunter. On our second day we were also undefeated with no tries or conversions. That's a total of only five points scored against the Illawarra.

After we received our medals and congratulations on winning the Country Championships the selectors called out who they wanted to represent Country NSW. I was selected and am very grateful for the opportunity. I'm also thankful to my mum who drove me and has supported me and to God who has gifted me with these skills and allowed me to continue my dream to hopefully play in the Women's Australian Rugby 7s team at the Olympics in 2020 and bring home gold once again.
