My School, My Responsibility 2019

NCS hosted the 2019 THREE16 My School, My Responsibility on Friday, 10 May. We welcomed students from local public high schools and regional schools as far away as Shellharbour and even Orange! Around 120 students heard presentations from various groups such as Voice of the Martyrs, Scripture Union, Youth With a Mission, and local Christians who had a story to tell about how God has led them in their faith through tough times and good. They encouraged us to share the good news of Jesus in our schools. Even our art teacher Mrs Stewart was able to lead an enjoyable and creative workshop using light to show how we can shine for Jesus!

The theme was 'Shine Your Light' and Andy Stephenson, from St Michael's Wollongong, was able to teach through Psalm 1 on how everyone of us can build a solid foundation in Jesus so that we can shine his light to the world. Comments from participants were that it was a fantastic time of encouragement and many of our NCS students enjoyed fellowship with students from schools and situations very different to ours.

We need to keep praying for Three16 as it continues to present scripture through schools in the local area, and give thanks for the organisational work and enthusiasm of Amelia McLellan (Bomaderry HS) in leading MSMR 2019!
