Art Express set to Impress

March 23, 2019

Stage 5 and Stage 6 Visual Arts students took an early morning train to Sydney to tour the latest HSC Visual Arts Showcase - ART EXPRESS.

The exhibition is held at the Art Gallery of NSW. For many students, this was their first visit to the Art Gallery. Students were amazed at the quality of artworks and found inspiration for their own work.

Stage 5 Art students drew the city scape as part of their unit of work on 'City in Utopia/ City in Decline'. Stage 6 students were investigating conceptual and material practice for their upcoming HSC Bodies of Work.

"It was a fabulous time. I would love to go back again", Courtney, Year 10

"I have been to Sydney before, but I've never really paid attention to the landscape. Looking closely at textures and the shapes of buildings made me see the city in a different way", Jamie, Year 9

"Art and Love are the same thing", Tahlera, Year 9

"It was a journey to be discovered", Callum ,Year 9
