Biggest Morning Tea raises $830

On Monday 29 May, our Secondary School Prefects and SRC students hosted the Biggest Afternoon Tea, which was a fundraiser for the Cancer Council.

It was an afternoon filled with musical entertainment, baked goods, great fellowship and beautiful sunshine. It was held between 2.00pm and 4.00pm, allowing the whole secondary school to be involved, as well as parents and carers when they picked up their children.

The fundraiser was organised to raise money to support the Cancer Council in their cancer research, prevention programs and support services. The Cancer Council, during the months of May and June, advertise this fantastic event for people to host a ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ and, presently, have over 25,000 hosts in Australia! Nowra Christian School was privileged to be a part of this program. We, as a community, have been able to raise $830!!

Thank you so much to all who participated in the event and donated, either financially or by baking tasty goods.

Thanks also to all staff who assisted in the setting up and packing up of this event. And a big thank you to the Secondary Prefects and SRC for organising this wonderful afternoon. Jasmine Dickinson

The students' goal was to raise $1000. On Monday, they were able to raise $830 through the mufti-day and afternoon tea. This is a fantastic effort and we congratulate the commitment and enthusiasm that the Prefects and SRC showed in running this event.

As their goal is still a little short of their target, $1000, and if you were unable to join us on Monday afternoon, the opportunity to donate to this worthwhile cause is still available by going to the students' link on this webpage.
