Youth Advisory Committee

On Wednesday 3 May, Tamsyn McPhail, Lachlan White, Elizabeth Curline and Jonty Beavan from Year 10 represented NCS at a Shoalhaven Youth Advisory Committee meeting held at the local council chambers. Students experienced life as a local council representative by participating in a formal discussion forum with students from Shoalhaven High School and Ulladulla High School.

The students contributed ideas about local community projects and shared their opinions about issues affecting youth in the Shoalhaven. Some of the issues our students raised with the local councillors included improved access to local university courses and the future development of parks and recreational areas.

The Youth Advisory Committee will meet again later in the year to plan an awards night that recognises the achievements of local youths throughout the community.
