State Aeronautical Velocity Champions

Last Friday four members of the NCS rocket team (Lydia Burrow, Joshua Davey, Ryan Davie and Eden Green) ventured to Wollongong University to compete in the State Final of the Aeronautical Velocity Challenge. The challenge was to construct a bottle rocket in 40 minutes which would fly the furthest distance. After a nervous start and a first launch of 41m, the team was feeling the pressure of being an expert team. Fortunately the next flight recorded a distance of 97m! This put the team into the final, which they won with a distance of 85m, becoming State Champions.
