Students who need medication at School must inform the office staff. The office staff will, in consultation with the Principal where necessary, direct the student regarding the storage and use of the medication.
As a general guide, puffers (eg Ventolin) should be kept on the student's person at all time, especially if the student is at risk of suffering from an event. All other medications would normally be kept in a locked draw in the office or staff common room fridge. Such medications are to be clearly labelled with the student's name and dosage instructions.
Students are not to bring painkillers (eg Panadol) to school. The School Office will give Panadol if necessary provided parents have given permission for this. The School will inform parents (via email where possible) when Panadol is administered.
Students are to be informed that under no circumstances are they to share medication with other students.
